Since last week’s massive earthquake in Haiti, which caused widespread damage and left hundreds of thousands of people homeless and hungry, Bnei Akiva has spearheaded a global campaign to bring assistance to the people of Haiti as quickly as possible.

All the international Zionist youth movements have partnered with Latet in an emergency fundraising drive.  Latet is an Israel-based humanitarian organisation that provides assistance to needy populations around the world.

Latet’s work in Haiti is co-ordinated with the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all funds raised will go directly to emergency relief equipment and medication to be sent to Haiti.

We are not only helping Haitians with their tragedy, but uniting the Jewish world and demonstrating  the Jewish values of the State of Israel.

We believe that it is a Jewish duty to help the people of Haiti.  As the representative of the Jewish people, the State of Israel is leading the relief effort.  Working together, the Zionist youth movements can help Israel and the Jewish people to fund urgent aid to Haiti.
